Khazaria

Sitting at the source of the river Madsar, Khazaria once occupied a position of power on Joltan, but that was long in the past. A series of failed campaigns against the city of Q’roth resulted in the loss of almost all of the prestige that Khazaria once held along with a long-standing and deep held distrust of all things Arcane.

Khazaria is now a metropolis in decline. Their more vigourous neighbour Shallal now controls the trade along the river leaving Khazaria to wallow in past glory, with decadence and disrepair common, though the city still shows some signs of it’s heritage with a diverse population and the remnants of wealth still evident.

But while they might resent Shallal their greatest enemy will always be Q’roth and it’s Magisters. Khazaria hates mages and also fears them, and any courageous enough to brave the city will find themselves named witch and shunned at best, even were they to cast but the smallest of spells. Divine magic is treated with more respect but most people in Khazaria would prefer to visit an apothecary than a priest for aid.
